September 2021. That's when I stared death in the face. Diagnosed with end-stage liver disease at 33, my body was failing after years of excessive drinking. It was a brutal awakening, a moment that forced me to fight for every breath. I won that battle, and it ignited a fire in me to not only live my life to the fullest but to also be a beacon of hope for others.

My recovery was a long and often lonely road, but it taught me the incredible power of resilience. It also showed me how vital support is when facing life's toughest challenges. That's a core part of what "I'm Out Here" is all about – letting you know you're not alone.

While healing, I found my way back to the professional world, excelling in digital marketing roles at e-commerce startups and eventually becoming a senior member of the marketing team at Signature Solar. My expertise in digital experience and product marketing allowed me to thrive.

However, my journey has been marked by both triumphs and setbacks. In February of 2025, I was let go from Signature Solar. While this has presented new challenges, I've chosen to embrace the opportunity to pursue my passions fully. Now, I'm taking that knowledge and my passion for life to build "I'm Out Here," a platform where I share my journey.

Music has always been a huge part of my life. I've spent decades playing either bass or guitar for the most talented groups and artists, as well as performing my own solo acoustic shows. I love covering popular and lesser-known deep cuts from the Texas Country and Red Dirt scene – those are the songs that shaped my playing and listening style (when I'm not rocking out to some metal, that is!).

My son, Connor, is my constant inspiration and the driving force behind everything I do. He's the reason I fought so hard to recover and the reason I'm building this "I'm Out Here" brand – to create a better future for us. It was for him, more than anything, that I poured every ounce of my being into getting better. And in an incredible turn of events that felt like a reward for all that effort, my health took a miraculous turn in August 2023. My specialist delivered news that defied all odds: I no longer needed a liver transplant. This reaffirmed my belief in the body's incredible ability to heal and the enduring power of hope, a hope I want to share with Connor and with all of you through "I'm Out Here."

"I'm Out Here" is more than just a phrase; it's a testament to overcoming adversity, embracing life's adventures (big and small), and offering a genuine connection to those who might feel lost or alone. Whether you're navigating your own challenges, seeking inspiration, or just looking for some real-life stories and maybe some good music vibes, I'm out here for you. Join me on this journey.
